The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.
— ALICE WALKER

My name is Vanessa and I am a fourth-year undergraduate student researcher pursuing a double-major in International Studies and French at the University of California, Irvine.

I come from a Taiwanese-Chinese-American background and my pronouns are she, her, and hers.

As a student, I am interested in understanding how diverse identities are being included in the scope of global society and seeing the world through the eyes of the most vulnerable populations.

As a researcher, I seek to examine the efficacy of gender mainstreaming initiatives put in place by international organizations and how we can bring more humility back into global politics.

As a writer, I promise transparency and vulnerability.

As a human, I promise kindness.

Thank you for stopping by.
